Mikrotik CRS226-24G-2S+RM is a professional-grade Cloud Router Switch (CRS) designed for enterprise networks, ISPs, and data center environments. It combines the functionality of a Layer 3 managed switch and router, offering flexibility and advanced control in a rackmount form factor.
This model features 24 × Gigabit Ethernet ports and 2 × SFP+ ports (10Gbps), enabling high-speed connectivity for both standard LAN devices and fiber uplinks. The inclusion of dual SFP+ ports makes it ideal for backbone connections, servers, or high-bandwidth aggregation.
Powered by a 400MHz CPU with 64MB–128MB RAM (depending on version), the CRS226 is optimized mainly for switching performance, while still supporting routing features when needed. It runs MikroTik’s RouterOS (Level 5 license), providing advanced networking capabilities like VLAN, firewall, VPN, QoS, and routing protocols.
A key advantage of the CRS series is its hybrid functionality—ports can operate as part of the switch or be separated for routing tasks, depending on your network design.
The device comes in a 1U rackmount metal enclosure, making it suitable for server racks and structured network setups. It also includes a touchscreen LCD panel, allowing quick monitoring and basic configuration directly on the device.
With low power consumption (~6W–21W) and passive cooling, it operates silently and efficiently, making it reliable for continuous use in professional environments.
⚠️ Note: CRS226 is now considered an older-generation CRS model, and newer models like CRS326 offer better performance, but it is still widely used in labs and budget enterprise setups.
