Cisco ISR4321-SEC/K9 is an enterprise-grade Integrated Services Router (ISR) from Cisco’s 4000 Series, designed for secure branch office and distributed enterprise networks. It comes with a built-in Security Bundle (SEC license), enabling advanced features like firewall, VPN, and intrusion prevention—making it ideal for organizations requiring strong network security and performance.
This router delivers aggregate throughput of 50–100 Mbps, suitable for small to medium branch environments handling data, voice, and cloud applications. It features 2 × Gigabit Ethernet WAN/LAN ports and 1 × SFP port, allowing flexible connectivity for both copper and fiber networks.
Built on the Cisco 4000 Series ISR platform, the ISR4321 provides intelligent WAN capabilities and application-aware networking, helping businesses optimize performance across MPLS, VPN, and internet connections.
The router supports modular expansion with 2 NIM slots and 1 ISC slot, enabling additional interfaces, voice modules, and services. It is powered by a multi-core architecture with 4GB RAM (expandable to 8GB), ensuring stable performance and scalability for growing networks.
Security is a major highlight, with integrated features such as IPsec VPN, firewall protection, intrusion prevention, and web filtering, ensuring secure communication and protection against cyber threats. It also supports QoS, NAT, and advanced application services, making it suitable for voice, video, and data traffic management.
Additionally, the ISR4321-SEC/K9 includes USB, console, and auxiliary ports for easy management and supports centralized configuration via Cisco IOS XE. Its 1U rack-mountable design makes it suitable for both rack and desktop deployments.
Although the model is now End-of-Life (EOL), it remains widely used in enterprise environments with support available until November 2028.
